Improvaneer Performances

A performance unlike anything you’ve seen before!

“When you get the chance to see an Improvaneer performance, beyond the hilariously amazing things happening on stage, there are three things to watch out for. First, watch the pride and hope on the faces of the parents and caregivers of those with developmental disabilities. Second, watch those with developmental disabilities in the audience as they begin to realize their own limitless potentials, and finally, watch those who don’t fall into those first two categories, as they grapple with a perception being changed drastically before their eyes. That’s the true magic of these performances.”

- Rob Snow, Creator of The Improvaneer Method/Director of The Improvaneers

The Improvaneers

In April of 2018, 27 individuals in the Northeast Ohio area with Down syndrome auditioned to be in the world’s first all Down syndrome improvisation troupe. 10 of those individuals were cast and became The Improvaneers. For the next year and a half, training once a week for two hours, they helped us create what has become The Improvaneer Method.

When the BIG SHOW happened in July of 2019, 1 cast member decided to sit out, but nine were left to put on a show the likes of which had truly never been seen before. Part sketch and part improv, the cast delivered to perfection and the audience was beside themselves trying to describe what they had seen.

These 9 individuals and their incredibly supportive parents, have become part of The Improvaneer Method family. Prior to and following their big performance, they had performed at all major Down syndrome conferences nationally. Since that BIG SHOW, the Improvaneers have now performed over 30 times around the United States and Canada. They are a hit and inspiration everywhere they tour.

The Performances…

The format of an Improvaneers performances is completely up to the event organizer. After all, we are pretty good at improvising! We will make recommendations as to the most ideal performance conditions, but can pretty much work within your parameters.

Shows can be between 20 and 75 minutes, on a stage or in a hallway. We will work with you on audio and visual needs, but it’s all a pretty simple set up. There is a set fee for each show depending on how close it is to Northeast Ohio. Extra fees will include travel, hotel, and meal cost for each performer.
